So, the new single is now out!

It’s been a long hot summer getting a studio tan and only coming out at night to play live, when it’s not quite so roasting. Still, there have been many twists and turns in the making of the new album and finding a new, more cohesive sound.  Every show, every gig throws up new ways to adapt and yet still move forward. It could never be accused of being boring.

One new skill I’ve learned is kidnapping. Grabbing people as they pass through town on their own tours and persuading them to drop in for a session, hoping they like the material. So far, it’s looking good for the album.

However, it has been on stage where things have taken an unexpected turn. Out of adversity comes triumph and a new way of thinking. We’d been booked as a full band to do a show in Reggio but at the last minute our keyboard player and drummer became victims of flu. What to do? Lex (Bass) and I had to quickly adapt to a foreshortened set list. The show must go on!

I had noticed a professional percussionist in the previous band. I knew it would work. So I begged and cajoled and finally convinced him into sitting in. “Just follow and you’ll get the idea”

The sound changed, the groove became entertaining, the confidence in the songs grew with each track and for the first time I had no pre-gig nerves or worries. It would be what it would be. It worked! We have a new band member and friend. The result was invitations to play more gigs thanks to the right person sitting in the audience at exactly the right time. I have rarely looked forward to a series of concerts as much as I do now.

For Passing Through I doff my cap to those who have made it the hit it should be. Alessio (LeX) Mauro, (Bass/Guitar) Mauro Cozzupoli (Drums and Percussion) Paolo Ferrara (Hammond) and Chiara Stella Capria (Violin and Backing Vocals)
